Top 10 Books with Snow

A weekly meme by The Broke and the Bookish

This week's topic is blogger's choice and since my brain is still recovering from the busy holiday weekend and the heat, I pick:

Top 10 Books with Snow

  1. The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe - Welcome to Narnia, where it is always winter but never Christmas.
  2. Ice - Yes, the title is accurate. Arctic north, ice, snows, polar bears.
  3. Frankenstein - Despite copious amounts of snow, no one gets frostbite...or dies of exposure. Unfortunately.
  4. These Broken Stars - What survival trek on an unknown planet is complete without snowy mountains?
  5. Written in Red - He needs the line to pull Meg out when she falls into the snow drifts! When, not if.
  6. White Space - As all horror movies have taught us, do not get stranded in houses unknown in the middle of a snowstorm. Double if the house has a barn nearby.
  7. Graceling - What daring escape/survival trek is complete without snowy mountains?
  8. The Witch of Blackbird Pond - A girl used to warmer climes discovering the horrors of northern winters for the first time. I can commiserate.
  9. Leviathan - A flying whale is temporarily beached in an ocean of snow in enemy territory where it finds a prince in hiding.
  10. Winter's Bone - Snowy Ozarks full of drug labs, double crossing and one girl's hunt for her probably dead dad.

Thanks for stopping by! Check back tomorrow for updates on reading, holiday fun and BookCon prep!

  1. There is a good chance you will be in the minority who doesn't include A Song of Ice and Fire on the list this week. But Leviathan is a great choice. And the only one I have read from your list =)

    1. Haha, believe it or not, I have not yet read A Song of Ice and Fire, and I've only seen a couple episodes of the show. But no worries. As with most Top 10's, I rattled off the first three, no problem. Then I blanked and spent 10 minutes sifting through my read list yelling, "Why don't any of these books have snow!" :)
