Updates: Beach, BookCon & Blogoversary

Lots going on this week! I'm in the midst of reading Vessel by Sarah Beth Durst and I just started Tabula Rasa by Kristen Lippert-Martin. So far so good on both.

The weather this weekend was absolutely beautiful which meant...beach walk! I talked my mom into taking the drive with me, and we walked a two-hour up and back stretch. The water was freezing, but there weren't many people and it was sunny and breezy and awesome. :D
BookCon is a little over a week away! I still have little to no idea what's going on, but I'm prepared to have fun, hopefully meet fellow bloggers and hit The Strand. If anyone's going to be there on Saturday or knows of any scheduled blogger meet-ups, let me know and we'll do snacks or standing in long lines together or something. :)

My Six-Month Blogoversary is this Friday. O.O I can't believe it's here already. I thought I had another fortnight at least. Regardless, it's here, which means this Friday look for a brand new blog theme/design! Also in honor of surviving six months, I will be hosting my first giveaway, so tell all your friends! Or don't. Fewer entries=better odds for you. But tell them about the blog's new look anyway. ;)

That is it for today because I'm scrambling to get things done in preparation for this weekend's dogsitting and a little babysitting (AKA death of free time). Check back tomorrow for my review of Livia Blackburne's Poison Dance and definitely check back Friday for the new blog design and giveaway!

  1. Ooo, I loved Vessel, so so so much! And I also have Tabula Rasa, but I have not read it yet. You're so lucky that you live near a beach! Looks beautiful. Have fun at BookCon! :)

    1. I just finished Vessel last night (by staying up WAY too late). The beach is about an hour away, a little less without traffic, but it was so beautiful and totally worth it to beat the crowds. :D

    1. Will do! I have no idea what's going on with it, but I figure, if it's horrible, I'll spend extra time at The Strand. Win-win. :)

    2. I know Lemony Snicket is going to be there (hence my jealousy). ;)

    1. You and me both! I've never been to a book convention before and have little to no idea what to expect, but I'm planning on fun and taking lots of pictures. :)

  4. So hit me up on twitter @pabkins DM me and I'll send you my phone number so we can be sure to coordinate to meet on Saturday ok? Are you only going to drive up for Saturday or will you be around Friday night? Either way I'll only be at Book Con until probably 2pm before I have to head to the airport and I don't want to miss you!

    1. Will do! I'm actually driving part-way and catching the train into Penn Station Saturday morning, so Friday night is pretty unlikely. :( But no worries. We'll figure something out for Saturday, probably in the morning so there's no stress about getting to the airport.
