Top 10 Books On My Summer TBR List

A weekly meme by The Broke and the Bookish

I can't believe it's already summer, but it is. Despite being a major planner, I don't often draw up official, organized TBR lists. But I do have a bit of a list for this summer, partly because I have review copies that need reading. And partly because I have some awesome books on my shelf and there are even more awesome books on sale this season.

What about you guys? Are there any books you're looking forward to this summer?

    1. It's one of two formats for lists on Riffle. I found out a week or two ago it was much easier to embed a list from there than try to format everything in Blogger. :)

  2. THE LAZARUS MACHINE looks awesome! Is FIRST FLIGHT going to be your first DINOTOPIA book?! It's not my favorite; the others are much better. But so glad to see that it's back in circulation! It was out of print for a long time. Made my childhood miserable. ;)

    1. I'm really looking forward to both of Crilley's books. :) I think I've read just about all of James Gurney's illustrated Dinotopia books (including First Flight, so I'm technically cheating) plus the chapter book spin-off series. I'm glad it's getting a reprint, too! It took some time, but I tracked down a nice used copy of it for my cousin a few Christmases ago. Now I finally add a copy to my shelf. I wonder if they'll do anniversary reprints of the others, too.

    2. Oh, I remember the chapter book series. For a spin-off, the authors did an amazing job staying true to the world. Did you ever get around to the two longer novels Alan Dean Foster wrote? They had James Gurney's original protagonists in them: THE HAND OF DINOTOPIA and DINOTOPIA LOST. One of these days, I'm going to collect every single Dinotopia book out there. It was my favorite series as a kid. I have all of James Gurney's except JOURNEY TO CHANDARA. I was able to find a nice used copy of FIRST FLIGHT a few years back, too. Fulfilled one of my childhood dreams; that was the one Dinotopia book I never got to read. Now I want to go watch the mini-series. It was so awful, but it brings back a lot of good memories.

    3. No, unfortunately I never did read the two long novels. Oh, I remember that miniseries!

  7. Some of these I need to look up! But Vicious is also on my TBR as is Midnight Thief. I'd like to read Illusive as well. Also the way you did your slideshow is awesome! And this is blogger. I'm impressed!

    1. It looks to be a promising summer for reading. :) And I'm glad you like the slideshow! I've been getting positive feedback on it thus far (and embedding Riffle lists is so much easier than formatting in Blogger), so I'll probably keep it. Thanks for stopping by!
