Updates: Jumping into July
At the beginning of every month I'm amazed at how quickly the year is passing. Why is that? Regardless, an early Happy Fourth of July to everyone! I'm very much looking forward to one of my rare days off work. Anyone have special plans for the Fourth?
In book news, I read two books over the past week that I really enjoyed: The Lazarus Machine (which I'll be reviewing here tomorrow) and Murder of Crows. After several reading slumps, I finally found a productive month in June. Recap time!
I also did some book buying this week. It was that darn Better World Book sale. They got me again. If it helps, one of them is a gift for my cousin. :)
From Amazon:
What about you guys? Any fun weekend plans or book hauls? Let me know and stop back in tomorrow for my review of Paul Crilley's The Lazarus Machine!

I loved Transparent! And I also have Tabula Rasa for review soon. I hope you enjoy all of your to-be-read-in-July books, Kel! :D
ReplyDeleteAlyssa @ The Eater of Books!
I'm looking forward to it! I actually really enjoyed Tabula Rasa. I hope you like it!
DeleteI LOVE Plain Kate and Murder of Crows - I wasn't too keen on Cracked. I just bought Iron Skin recently too and ACID I was randomly sent in the mail months ago - don't know if I'll read it.
ReplyDeleteCracked an ACID were both kind of let downs for me, but I've read rave reviews on both from others. I am looking forward to Plain Kate and Ironskin. :)
DeleteI read The Grimm Legacy a couple of years ago and loved it! Definitely a fun middle-grade/ young teen book.
ReplyDeleteThat's good to hear! BWB is good for picking up those "older" titles. :)
DeleteOmg this year is going by so fast and I feel like June went the fastest of all! Also, OMG YOU GOT IRONSKIN???? I've been wanting to buy myself a copy for so long because I really enjoyed the library copy I got ;-) I think I'm going to go buy some books >.>
ReplyDeleteI'm still reeling at how fast June went. And yep! Better World Book sales are great for cheap hardcovers. You're going to buy some books? *gasp* I am shocked! ;)
