Updates: Heading South for the Food

I don't really do vacations. Which is why having two last year was so strange; I drove down to the Rockies (which were beautiful) with my mom for her family's big get-together and then to Florida with my friend's family for a week at Disney where I went to Epcot for the first time and tried the Food & Wine Festival.

I haven't missed a single day of work so far this year, but that's about to change. I've bought my tickets and will be off to Florida to see my sister in October! My trip may or may not have something to do with visiting this year's Food & Wine Festival. >.>

Also, I saw Guardians of the Galaxy! And it was really fun! There were lots of great lines and a couple of scenes that had me cracking up. Dance off, anyone? ;)

Book Haul:

Two of the books I ordered came in the mail. Yay for fast shipping! And they're technically both used, but in great shape. Also, a friend who goes through an INSANE amount of books and is running out of storage space gave me another stack of freebies!

Read:

Suffice it to say, I was disappointed with this one. On the bright side, the author still posts really cute pictures of her puppy Odin (#godofpuppies) on Instagram. :)

That's it for this week. Thanks for stopping in and check back tomorrow for my review of Winterspell by Claire Legrand!

  1. I get a holiday next year - BookCon! Not sure if that counts as a holiday, actually, since I'll be there for blogging. But it'll be the first time I get to actually really go anywhere, so I'm counting it as a holiday! :) Have fun on yours!

    1. Are you just doing BookCon or the full BEA package? And yes! If you're taking a break from your day job, it's a vacation. :)

  2. I live for vacations, lol. I've pretty much done a big vacation every year for about the last 10 years.

We were at Epcott a few years ago the week before the festival, so they were setting up for it. It's a good time of year to go to Disney, it's not very busy. Although I guess that week may be.

    1. I'll probably be posting pictures like crazy on Instagram that day! I will, however, be keeping the "delicious detail" of how much weight I gain a secret. ;)
