Top 10 Sequels I Can't Wait to Get

A weekly meme by The Broke and the Bookish

Often when I start and enjoy a new series, I dive right into the next book(s) available. Or else I obsessively check the library until I find the next book once it's published. (I may or may not have grabbed Cress off the "New YA" display without a single thought for all the teenagers anxiously awaiting its release. >.>) However, this week we're looking at sequels I've been meaning to read, but haven't yet for one reason or another.

I need to finish The Chronicles of Prydain. There's one book left and no good reason why I haven't read it. There's also no good reason why I haven't read Black Lung Captain; I really enjoyed Retribution Falls...although it did take me a while to track down a good copy of the second. Maybe the lag time killed my excitement? I still need to track down a copy of A Spark Unseen.

Hero is the only sequel on the list whose predecessor I have not read. Not sure whether I will, but I've heard good things about Hero and have been meaning to try it for a year or so. I just read Transparent this month, so Blindsided probably shouldn't be on the list, but I've had my eye on the series for a while, and it was decent fun. As for Black Heart...I don't know. Maybe I'm afraid to see how the trilogy ends? I haven't read The Osiris Curse yet because I'm a horrible human being. :P

I'm pretty sure Mortal Gods and Vision in Silver will get read soon. I'm still pretty excited for the former and the latter is waiting on my Nook as a reward for surviving the LSAT.

That's it for this round of 10! Thanks for stopping by and check back in tomorrow for this week's Updates! In which I survived my first LSAT practice test. Sort of. :)

  1. There is no excuse for not starting Black Lung Captain =) I read the first two then had to wait for two years for the third book to actually be released in the US. I almost broke down and tried to get it shipped across the ocean.

    1. Haha, true! Book Depository is great for those UK releases when you just can't wait as long as you don't mind different covers. Yay free worldwide shipping! :)

    1. I enjoyed Antigoddess and I just snagged Book 2 from the library yesterday. Now the hard part: studying first, reading second. ;)

    1. I think you'd probably enjoy A Dark Unwinding, the book before A Spark Unseen. And everyone seems to like The Others series. :)

    1. I can't tell you how many unread first books in series I have on my shelves. Which means I should probably stop thinking about upcoming sequels/new releases...>.> Nah! We'll find time to read them all, right? :D

    1. No? Waiting for a print copy instead? You have more self-control than I. It was one of those, I know I'll have to hold off on reading it so I can bribe myself to keep studying for this stupid test, but I wants it NOW!

    1. Haha, yeah, but it's been a good six months or so since I read Red Glove. At least you just read White Cat recently. ;)

    1. I'm glad you loved that one, Alyssa! I'll probably have to track that one down on Amazon or Better World Books. If the library hasn't gotten it by now, I'm betting they won't. :(
