Updates: LSAT & LaFevers

The LSAT studying continues. I have good days and bad, but, unfortunately, best results are usually obtained with consistent, daily practice. :P But, I made an exception and took an extra special break for...

Robin LaFevers! She had a signing event nearby (sort of), and I was lucky and made it in time despite traffic. B&N's wi-fi wouldn't send all my tweets, but you can find a few choice author quotes about the series and future books on my Twitter feed. :)

Currently Reading:

The LSAT study guide is taking precedence this week (especially since it's due back next). However, on the off chance that I need a break or deserve a reward, I may have picked up a few novels from the library, just in case.

Read:

Most of my reading time is going to the LSAT study book (and its numerous practice questions), but I squeezed in these two short, easy reads. Transparent wasn't bad, though some of the ending bits felt a little forced/convenient. The writing, plot and characters of Unenchanted fell short. Interesting ideas, but lacking execution.

Bought:

I stopped by the library book sale again and found a few more. I keep saying I'm going to cut back on the book buying, especially with Christmas around the corner...but three books for less than $2.00? Yeah, we'll let that one slide.

That's it for this week's happenings! Thanks for stopping in and check back tomorrow for my review of The World Above by Cameron Dokey! A Jack and the Beanstalk/Robin Hood mash-up.

Also, don't forget to stop by Saturday for my post on the Gratitude Giveaway Hop!

    1. It was pretty cool! I was a little dead from the hour and a half ride (complete with lots of traffic), but she had really fun things to say about the history surrounding the series and her writing process and the fact that all of the heroes are basically her husband.

    1. Thank you! It was a rough drive, but big names like her don't come around this way too often, and I had 2/3 books ready for signing. ;)

  3. Law school, woot! And OMG Robin was in Bethesda and I couldn't go, frickin midterms. I can't do anything until finals are over and that is in December?! Rawr. Anyway. I'm glad you enjoyed the singing and I hope you do well on the LSAT!

    1. Haha, we'll see. Some of these practice sections are kicking my butt. But thank you! I hope it goes well, too.

Sadly, midterms must come before author events. :(

  4. Can you take a picture of the things she wrote in the books? >.> I always like seeing what the authors write for the sort of one saying that captures the book, hehe. Also yey Illusions of Fate!

    1. I think she only wrote a line in Dark Triumph which I posted on Instagram. Sorry. :( I'm thinking about starting Illusions of Fate soon. All LSAT studying and no fun reading destroys the brain. :)

    1. I actually skipped Grave Mercy and went straight to Dark Triumph, but I've heard so many people gushing about the series as a whole, I'm sure you'll love it!
