Updates: Yarn, Studying & Library Sales

The bracelet race continues! I tend to make them in spurts and stops, but we're slowly building up a pile. Or we were until I ran out of buttons. Time to confiscate more. :) On the less productive side, it's November, which means I have one month until the LSAT and need to, you know, actually study. So if you see me lollygagging about on Twitter or Instagram or your blogs, feel free to yell at me for not studying. :)

Read:

I dove straight into Death Marked after finishing Death Sworn and may have stayed up way too late finishing it in one go. But I made it through work the next day without caffeine, so it wasn't that late. >.> (Ignoring the fact that I chugged Mountain Dew immediately upon returning home so I didn't crash during that evening's Bible study.) I grabbed Poison off the shelf because the cover looked pretty and I had a vague memory of good reviews. I'm not sure what I think of it. It felt like it had an identity crisis or two.

My library is having its annual book sale and, while barely have any sci-fi/fantasy titles, their YA section has quadrupled from last year's selection. It looks like a lot of them are library discards, and hardcovers are only $0.50. But I am trying to be picky and only get books I think I have a good chance of reading.

That's it for this week's happenings! Thanks for stopping in and check back tomorrow for my review of Storm Siren by Mary Weber! A weather witch called to save her country, if she doesn't accidentally destroy it first. :)

  1. I have not been able to hit a book sale from our library for quite some time. Used to clean up during them, though their fantasy selection wasn't real good. It was always mysteries and thillers

    1. I noticed that at ours, too. There are a ton of mysteries/thrillers, but almost no fantasy or sci-fi. I know the library doesn't maintain a large stock of those genres, but I figured there would be more donations.

  2. Oohh, you got THE AUSLANDER! Very good book. Doesn't necessarily have this big, major plot, but the historical detail is fascinating.

    1. A lot like Death Sworn in that Ileni is dropped into a setting completely foreign to her where people may kill her, there's a little bit of mystery, but the emphasis is on her internal conflicts and moral dilemmas. I will say I liked the end of Death Sworn better than the end of Death Marked, but it was satisfying enough. I hope you enjoy!

    1. Thank you! Death Marked was pretty satisfying, and it's only a duology which is great. :)
