Top 10 Books I Read In 2014

A weekly meme by The Broke and the Bookish

Do you ever notice how at the end of the year we always do list of the best books we read, but never a list of the worst? Maybe because the lovely ladies who choose the Top 10 topics are super nice people. :) But it makes me wonder... what would my Top 10 Worst Books of 2014 be? >.>  Hmm...perhaps we'll find room in the schedule for that post before year's end. For now, on to the best!

I still need to read six more books before New Year's, but we'll have honorable mentions on Update days if any of them would have made the list.

That's it for this round of 10! Thanks for stopping by and check back in tomorrow for this week's Updates! In which I made pretzels and conquered the narwhal. :)

  1. Forgive me for my confusion. Is this list then a list of the best or worst of the year? Were you just idly musing up top?

    1. No problem. I tweaked the post to make it less confusing. (Idle musings early Monday morning are bound to make little sense and avoid logical transitions.) This list is the best of the year. :)

  2. I really need to read All Our Yesterdays soon! I have the book and the audiobook and still haven't made it happen. :/ I've also been interested in this Written in Red series! I love the covers. :D Great list, Kel!

    1. I HIGHLY recommend dropping everything and reading All Our Yesterdays. :)

I really enjoyed Written in Red and Murder of Crows. I'm still mulling over my thoughts on the third book, but I'm definitely continuing with the series. Thank you! :D

  3. I need to read 4 more this year! But that's only because I decreased my initial amount by 15. SO MANY amazing titles on your favorites list. I'm OBSESSED with the Others series. Written in Red, Murder of Crows and Vision in Silver are favorites of mine!! Storm Siren, All Our Yesterdays and Cress are also favorites of mine! Some of these I don't know much about and must look them up! I'm having so much fun reading all these TTTs today.

    1. The same thing happened to me last year, Lauren. I think I decreased my goal by 10-ish? Whatever is was, there was no way I was making the original number on time.

Yay! I love hearing others are loving the Others Series as much as I am. Cress and Storm Siren were wonderful, and All Our Yesterdays may be one of my new all-time favorites. I hope you find lots of good recommendations on today's TTT lists! :)

  4. Yey, I've been really excited to see what you liked best this year since sometimes I can't tell from your ratings ;-). I'm very happy to see Cress on there so that we can fangirl together when Winter comes out!!!!

    1. The "revised" rating system (more 4 and 2-stars, instead of so many varying degrees of 3) definitely made picking this list easier, but it was still hard and I feel like there should be a ton of honorable mentions. We will indeed fangirl when Winter comes out!

  5. I love seeing everyone's 'Best' lists though! It expands my reading lists ;) Although I do truly hope you create a 'worst of 2015' post. I recently read a post where the bloggers shared the worst covers of 2015 and it had me cringing!

    2. Maybe a "Top 10 Disappointments of 2014" list? Hmm...I'll see what I can do. :)

  6. Cress was one of the great ones I had the pleasure of reading this year and I really want to read Storm Siren so badly! Great list!

  7. Nice list! I haven't gotten around to my Top 10 list yet, mostly because this month has been horribly busy. Might not get it out till January at this rate... Anyways, I'm happy to see Storm Siren on yours!
