Top 10 Books I Wouldn't Mind Santa Bringing
A weekly meme by The Broke and the Bookish
I wrote a discussion post before about generally not liking others to buy me books. However, there are exceptions to every rule. >.> Here are a couple of books I'm either reasonably certain I'll enjoy, or excited enough about to ignore my usual qualms. ;)
That's it for this round of 10! Thanks for stopping by and check back in tomorrow for this week's Updates! In which I caved...and bought more books. :)

The hole where Ace of Skulls should be sitting on my shelf is bugging me, I have the other three all nice in a row (despite the damn cover style change as it switched publishers). Once Dreamer's Pool is in paperback I am buying a physical copy.
ReplyDeleteI know exactly how you feel. I have the first three (with different sizes but same style covers), but there is a hole. I think Dreamer's Pool will be one of those titles I try to snag a used hardback of. :)
DeleteI've seen Stray floating around the blogsphere for quite some time now; I have to admit though, the book cover is a bit off :P
ReplyDeleteHope you get at least one from your wishlist!
Sparrow's TTT
I read at least one review of Stray that made me willing to give it a try (plus I'm a sucker for fairy tale retellings). The cover isn't my favorite, but it isn't screaming, "Run away! Save yourself!" ;)
DeleteGreat list! I have Diana Wynne Jones' The Dark Lord of Derkholm on my shelf, waiting to be read. I really loved Howl's Moving Castle and the other two books in the series, and a little more DWJ on the to-read pile is always fun :) Hope you find some of these books make their way under your Christmas tree ;)
ReplyDeleteMy TTT
True! More Diana Wynne Jones is always fun, and I loved Howl's Moving Castle. :)
DeleteDreamer's Pool made it to my list too! And, Nice Dragons Finish Last sounds really fun to me.
ReplyDeleteI just found out about Nice Dragons Finish Last the other day from Tabitha at Not Yet Read, but it sounded like a great mix of silly and serious. I hope you love Dreamer's Pool, Anne!
DeleteI don't always love people buying me books either... in fact, I dislike it so much no one really does buy me any books. LOLOL! I have so many books to read I don't need any new ones.. unless they are great and epic!
ReplyDeleteMy Top Ten Tuesday
I know what you mean. I have SO MANY unread books...and I keep buying more. It's a problem. ;)
DeleteI spy some great looking books! Hopefully Santa obliges.
ReplyDeleteHaha, we'll see. And if not, I can probably track down cheap used copies later. :)
DeleteI seriously LOVED Dissonance, Dreamer's Pool, and Stray! The latter two were AMAZING fantasy novels, and Dissonance was a kickbutt science fiction ish novel! I loved it so much! All three of these! The other ones, I'm not so sure about (not familiar with them).
ReplyDeleteHappy holidays!
Alyssa @ The Eater of Books!
I'm looking forward to all three of those, and I'm glad to hear you loved them, Alyssa! :)
