Updates: NYC, Here We Come

I'm headed to New York City with a friend this weekend. It should be fun, but freezing. I'm definitely packing warm clothes. We only have concrete plans for one afternoon and the rest is just exploring and hanging out, so if anyone has any suggestions for what to do in NYC (when it's horrendously cold out), I'd love to hear them!

New Toys:
Ravelry - I don't have the skills (or, let's face it, the patience) to pull off most of these patterns, but it's nice to dream. And the search parameters are a little more precise than Pinterest.

[Code]cademy - I've been wanting to learn more coding for a while. This is a free site with lessons for different languages and full projects, so I'm giving it a try. Wish me luck!

I finished the preview excerpt of A Darker Shade of Magic (preview review here) and am really hoping my library gets the book ASAP upon release. I also finished Heartless, which had some good ideas, but the execution was...wonky. Puzzle, I must, before writing review.

Currently Reading:

I'm not quite halfway through this eARC, but so far it's okay. I'm not wowed, and the narration needs to stop repeating a certain thought ever five pages, but I shouldn't have any trouble finishing. Illusionarium is still somewhere off in the background, too. I haven't completely given up on it, but I need to wait until I'm in a very specific mood to dive back in.

That's it for this week's happenings! Thanks for stopping in and check back tomorrow for my mini-review of Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea by April Genevieve Tucholke! In which a psychopath becomes obsessed with a hipster who falls in love with him. :)

  1. [Code]cademy, eh? I will have to check that site out!! Thanks for sharing it :)

    1. You're very welcome! I hope you enjoy it!
