Updates: Onward to Law School
The big news this week is, of course, that I got accepted to law school. I start this fall, which may mean some changes for the blog, but no worries. I'll still be around. :)So that's taking up the bulk of my time right now. The application process is done, but there's still FAFSA to fill out, and I'm trying to figure out whether I'll be able to go full-time, what with my job and all.
Read:
Despite my reservations (and my continued annoyance that Winter was pushed back), I grabbed Fairest from the library. It's not bad, but a little disappointing. Levana failed to terrify and, though she's definitely dangerous, the whole story left me with a kind of meh feeling. I followed that up with expectation-less digging into free ebooks I downloaded ages ago on my Nook. Blood Faerie was actually pretty decent...until the bonding/romance completely took over. :P
Currently Reading:
And the Nook digging continues. Heartless is dragging a bit. The MC is...well...um...why is she the MC again? Yeah. I may or may not finish it.
That's it for this week's happenings! Thanks for stopping in and check back tomorrow for my mini-review of For Darkness Shows the Stars by Diana Peterfreund! In which Persuasion is retold on a dystopian, sci-fi island. :)

Congratulations!!!!! I'm actually heading back for some computer classes this fall, to prep myself for the "prestigious" job of receptionist. ;) HEARTLESS doesn't get any better. At all. I struggled through it only because I had a free copy of its sequel - VEILED ROSE. And quite honestly, VEILED ROSE should have been the first book.
ReplyDeleteThank you! And good luck with the computer classes! I know you'll do just fine. :)
DeleteThat's a shame about Heartless. Hmm, it may be time to ditch and move on...
I like Fairest. I was worried that it was going to make Levana likeable, but I though Meyer did a great job with having such an unlikable protagonist and still making the book enjoyable. Of course, I still want Winter to be here now.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you liked Fairest, Sam! I think Meyer did a good job with Fairest, though I'm still disappointed Levana didn't scare me more. Eh, oh well. Next villain, right? ;)
DeleteCongrats again :)
ReplyDeleteI remember Heartless...it was so....blah and draggy feeling! Can't wait to see your thoughts
Thanks! I'm nearing the end of Heartless, but draggy is a good descriptor. ;)
DeleteCongrats on law school! let me know if you have any questions about anything. I graduated a year ago so I know all about the application process, the classes and the stress. Not to mention the bar. haha
ReplyDeleteThanks, Michelle! Right now, it hasn't fully processed, but I have no doubt the questions will flood my brain soon enough. ^^;
