Art It Up! - Crocheted Hat #2

Art It Up! is a weekly feature hosted by Tabitha @ Not Yet Read.

Y'all remember that crocheted hat I posted on last week's Art It Up? The one I said didn't turn out quite right that I was thinking about pulling out? Well, I pulled it out. And when the glorious unraveling at last ended and I had a ball of gray yarn sitting in my hand, I started again.

I used a similar but different pattern for this one. It's called the "Hadley Slouch." Again, it's only two stitches and, though I wound up using a smaller hook than called for (which I think resulted in less slouch), it turned out pretty well. It fits just about perfectly when I roll up the front brim a little. And making hats is also giving me selfie practice. I shall master this strange art yet! ;)

Thanks for stopping by, and check back tomorrow for this week's discussion post! In which I talk about Scholastic's reading survey and statistics. :)

    1. Yeah, but it's a pretty quick project, and it was worth the unraveling. I knew I wouldn't wear the first one, and there was no reason for it to sit around collecting dust; so I reused it and made something that fits. Thanks! :)

  2. I agree I can't believe you pulled it out! Lol, that is called "frogging" a crochet project...cause you know "rip it rip it" sounds is close to ribbit ribbit. :-)

But that's a good point if you knew you would never wear it. I just made my first slouchie also!

    Well done!

    1. Ooh! "Frogging," is it? I've learned a new word! :D

Congrats on your first slouchie! (Though I'm curious...how did you find the time when you just had a baby?)
