Art It Up! - Crocheted Hat

Art It Up! is a weekly feature hosted by Tabitha @ Not Yet Read.

It's been a while since I posted anything artsy or crafty, but we're back with my first completed crocheted hat!

I used this pattern for a "Really Easy Slouchy Beanie." And by "used this pattern," I mean I messed up somewhere along the line and had to improvise. Still, first hat cleared! (Though I realized I'm more likely to wear the closer fitting hats like the Spider beanie I have, so now I'm tempted to pull it out and change the whole look.)

Thanks for stopping by, and check back tomorrow for this week's Top 10! :)

  1. I think it's awesome! I still have yet to make a hat but I did just buy two patterns yesterday. Both for slouch type beanies that my sister wants me and my mom to make her while she's visiting. One has teddy bear ears and this cute wrist warmers. Going to start them today.

You totally shouldn't take this one apart! Just make a new one in the style you like!

    1. Haha, thanks Tabitha! I can't believe you, the craft queen, haven't made a hat yet. You should right that wrong! With teddy bear ears! ;)

Normally I'd be too lazy to undue a finished piece...but I hate keeping clothes I know I won't wear. Maybe I can find someone to pawn it off on instead. :)

    1. You should! And a pattern like this would be good; besides the magic circle, it's only double and single crochets. :)

  3. That hat is so much better than the one I'm still working on!

    1. Haha, thanks! I'm still completely lost on the whole gauge thing. I think it involves measuring? (Which is hilarious because I'm uber-precise about everything else.)

  4. I've always wanted a slouchy beanie! Looks great on you!

    1. Haha, thanks! I found out belatedly I'm super picky about my beanies, but this was pretty easy to make if you want to give it a try. Only 2 different stitches! :)
