Updates: Books, Crafts and Taxes

My taxes and FAFSA are officially done! Woohoo! I also got some housework out of the way, which is good because I start a dogsitting gig this Friday. Wish me luck. I also have an intro day at the law school coming up, after which I'll hopefully have a better idea of what I launched myself into. ;)

I crocheted my first hat! You can find more photos and specifics on this week's Art It Up post.

We're back on track with the Goodreads Challenge! For now. >.> The Fog Diver is a fun middle grade adventure with airships and air pirates. Need I say more? Powerless could have been interesting, but it had some serious worldbuilding issues for me. Uprooted could appeal to both adult and YA readers. (There's only one and a half "adult" scenes, plus a bit of war.) It has a fairy tale feel to it and, though the story drew me along, I failed to be overly invested in the protagonist.

Currently Reading:

I just started Siren's Fury last night, and I'm only about 20 pages in, so no thoughts yet. Rebel Mechanics and Hold Me Like a Breath are next on the list. :) And then we'll try to finish out Illusionarium. And if that doesn't work, I can return to the books I should have read a year ago but didn't. :P

That's it for this week's happenings! Thanks for stopping in and check back tomorrow for my review of Fairest by Marissa Meyer! In which the evil queen becomes the evil queen. :)

  1. The Fog Diver looks good! Even Uprooted looks worth a shot. I say you completed some decent books!

    1. Yep! Two out of three isn't bad. ;) That, and I'm just happy to be caught up on my GR challenge again. (Though I guarantee if I go look now it'll say I'm behind schedule.)
