10 Books in My Beach Bag

I have a confession: my favorite thing to do at the beach is not reading. Gasp! It's true. As much as I love setting up a chair on the sand and chilling out under an umbrella with a good book, my favorite beach activity is to walk. I love walking up and down the beach for hours. Something about the sea air and the waves and the sand lets you ignore how sore your legs are--until you finally want to crash and realize you're still 10 blocks away from your car. ;)

That's not to say the beach bag will be book-less. Quite the opposite, in fact. :)

I got approved for an eARC of Daughter of Dusk (my FIRST Disney approval), which will finally force me to read Midnight Thief in a timely fashion! Manipulating oneself works wonders. :) And Rebel Mechanics is finally the next release to read. Time to brave the shore traffic and get reading!

Walk on Earth a Stranger is another eARC I'll be taking to the beach or lake this summer. And it will have friends! I can't wait to read the new YA novel about Lois Lane, and my library is finally getting a copy of A Darker Shade of Magic. It WILL be mine!

What's a beach bag without a few quick, fun, younger reads? I'm planning on The Osiris Curse, which should be action-y, and The Westing Game, a children's classic I haven't read yet.

These two are heavier than what I usually take to the beach, but they're both amazing stories I've been meaning to read for forever, and I can't get sucked into Netflix or Twitter at the beach.

That's it for this round of 10! Thanks for stopping by! No updates this week, but check out my Twitter and Instagram for posts from BEA! :D

    1. Ooh, sleeping is good, too! As long as you don't forget the lotion and hat and burn to a crisp. :)

  2. I loved the Westing Game when I read it in my teens. Haven't read any of the others, but the Midnight Thief looks interesting.

    1. I've had Midnight Thief on my shelf for over a year, but that should definitely get read soon now that I have a deadline. I'll let you know how it turns out!
