How To Stay Sane in Law School

Despite having seriously cut back on fun reading *sobs,* I haven't gone crazy yet! I think the trick has been to have a few constants -- that is, have a few consistent distractions to break up the never ending studying. ;)

Pretzels: my go-to commuting snack.

Audiobooks: I'm almost done The Book Thief, and it's made many a traffic jam feel, if not shorter, not quite as long. And it's a great way to put those two hours of driving per day to productive use.

Book books: I started Nice Dragons Finish Last on audio and finished it in ebook, but either way, it was nice to be interested in and speed through a story again. I'm sorry, textbooks. You cannot compare.

Webcomics: Novels are great, but they require a certain time commitment I don't always have. Quick chapter updates from webcomics are easier to fit in and give a small dose of fiction.

Netflix: I can't indulge in this one too often or I'd never get anything done, but it's a brilliant change of pace when you need some hardcore couch potato-ing.

Caffeine: I actually haven't dived into this one as badly as I feared, but at least once a week I need a little pick me up. Usually a soda, or an iced tea, and I'm slowly giving coffee a shot again. Trying to stay away from the espresso though. I'll have to work back up to that one.

Whether you're in school, work or whatever, little breathers can be a big help. ;)

    1. I caught the same deal! And totally caved when I saw the audiobook upgrade was only $2 more. I thought it was a lot of fun, and it has a seer named Bob! :D

    1. Thanks, Alyssa! For now, espresso is the tool of last resort. I have to save it for emergencies so I don't get desensitized and it still has some oomph. ;)
