Looking Back at 2015

With the help of a few last minute comics, the Goodreads Challenge has been conquered! It's been an interesting year in books. I read more advance copies this year (eARC's and ARC's from BEA)...and then my reading dropped off to almost zero when law school started. ^^; Still, not a bad year.

I added in a few more comics and graphic novels, and I read a couple of free independent ebooks, too. On the dark side, the majority were only 2 stars. That's a little disappointing. :(

On the bright side, I found a couple of new authors and series I'm excited to read more of next year. And, of course, I'm still looking forward to certain 2015 releases I will most definitely be reading in January...like Winter. :)

2016 will be interesting. I really want to do more reading during the semester, but...law school. :P

What about you guys? Did you have good reading years? Any new favorites?

  1. Apparently, at least according to GoodReads, I read 167 books this year at over 50k+ pages total. I'm not sure I wanted to know that... *laughs* And I have way too many new favorite books/authors!

    1. Wow, that's impressive! It's no wonder you have so many new favorites out of all that. With 167, you were bound to find more than a few gems. Happy reading in 2016! :)

  2. Wow, no 5 stars? Yay for reaching your goal :) Hopefully you get to read more next semester, but law school is a pretty good excuse ;)

    1. Yeah, no 5 stars. (When I first started rating things on Goodreads, I kind of reserved 5 stars for those very few books that completely and totally wowed me and marked new eras of reading...basically, I made it impossible for anything to get 5. Although, I've decided if I find something that I totally and completely love now, it will get 5 stars. I just haven't found it yet. ^^; )

We'll see about this semester's reading. I'm trying to schedule in more reading time, but if it's anything like last semester, it'll be rough.

  4. You gotta make 2016 the year of good books, you had way to little four and five star books! I am making 75 my goal for 2016. I had 150 and only made it 80% this year, with a new baby coming, I figured that was a lofty goal

    1. I hope so, Missie! I think I'm going to be even more selective with requesting eARC's this year...and maybe set a super low reading goal so I don't feel compelled to read lackluster books just to get numbers.
