Quick Life Update

It is a busy semester. I spent my last two weekends at school for pro bono program training and I have a bunch of writing assignment due dates coming up. I'm learning interesting things about myself through the one pro bono project in particular, and also from my attempts at networking events. (Prime example: I NEED pockets or a drink in my hand or else I fidget like crazy.)

This semester has been really bad for fun reading. I feel a little like a failure or a traitor to books, but when I finally get a break from work and classes and textbooks, I just want to sleep or do some mindless couch-potato-ing.

Also, I seem to have caught a little cold, so pray that ends quickly. :)

Yeah, that's it. It's a pretty simple, isolated ball of existence. Although I'm hoping to add more fun reading to it once the current mad rush calms down. Happy reading!

  1. Good luck with all the papers! I don't know if I could go back to school and have to do homework again. I don't blame you for not getting much recreational reading in.

    1. Thanks, Samantha! Homework is a menace. :P I'm definitely glad I didn't set a GR Challenge this year. I'm happy with whatever I can manage. :)

  2. You'll have to share some of these interesting things you are learning about yourself!

    1. Haha, we'll see! Some of them (like the fidgeting) are share-able. Others...they're not weaknesses, exactly, but they're things I have to be aware of because they affect how I approach and understand situations. Not bad per say, but I don't necessarily want to put the inner workings of my mind out there for future employers to find. Though they can probably figure out most of it from reading my book reviews. ;)

    2. Ha, true. Hope life is still going swimmingly and you are finding little patches of time to read :)

  3. OMG busy semester, you nailed it on the head. I'm not in law school but currently drowning in this semester. *sighs*

I'm no good with networking events! Career fairs are my personal hell, I think. I hate putting myself on display and everyone expecting me to have all the answers and be perfect and professional yet unique and not robot-y! AHHH! Drives me nuts.

Anyway. Best of luck, Kel! :)

    1. I think there's a conspiracy in academia to make us all suffer this spring. ;) I'm hoping to get better at this networking thing, but we'll see...awkward ahoy.

Thanks! Good luck to you, too, Alyssa!
