New Year's Resolutions

Happy New Year, everyone! It's that time again--the time when we all make resolutions that, by and large, we either can't keep or don't intend to. :)

I have a couple of completely doable resolutions this year, like putting a stamp in my passport (which I need to renew...). I'm always worried about unnecessary spending and time, etc., but I've decided I want to make this a priority. I want to rediscover that love of wanderlust. And I want to do something with the present, not just plan and save for the future.

Unfortunately, there's also a partially impossible resolution. I call it "weeding."

I want to get rid of activities and obligations and stuff I don't enjoy. I've taken on a LOT of extra responsibilities and obligations this school year, and there are a lot of things I wish I could cut out. It's like you wake up one morning and go...

But for every thing I'm not enjoying and would like to drop, there's a list of reasons why I can't.

Theoretically, yes, you can drop anything and everything. At the same time, when everything impacts on your career... yeah.

So my resolution is to weed out all the unwanted, energy-sucking things I can; power through anything I can't; and look forward to the things I do enjoy. Like taking a trip or reading a good book. :)

Happy New Year, and best of luck with your resolutions in 2017! I'd love to hear what they are. Bookish, health, life?

  1. Great resolutions! I need to do some weeding too. Luckily, that'll come with me graduation, so there will be some weeding that will happen whether I like it or not. :D Hopefully you get the chance to take that trip and read that good book (or a dozen)!

Happy New Year and have a fantastic weekend, Kel. =)

    1. Thanks, Alyssa! That's so wonderful that you're almost to graduation! Fun reading has been a little spare so far, but we'll sneak some in. ;) Have a great weekend!
