March Adventures: Weddings, Work & the PokeRap

It was another busy month. I did my taxes, went to a couple of lecture events, put in volunteer hours, grabbed ramen with an old high school friend, worked, and then ran down to Florida for my little sister's wedding. I drove down with my folks, was actually in Florida for 1.5 days, and then flew back home.

Yeah, my little sister is officially married. It was a sunrise beach wedding. There were a lot of seagulls. :)

Then I got home, wrote a paper, went back to work and school, binged most of "Cranford" during a snow day, and applied to take the Bar Exam. Duh duh DUH!!

I got a little bit of fun reading done in between all this. One of them was from this month's OTSP Secret Sister package, which rocked a March Monsters theme! The mix CD has the PokeRap. Need I say more?

Books I Read:

Double Down was a slower start than the first Lois Lane novel, but I'll definitely read the third. (It's already in the hoard.) Removed was a free ebook, and it had interesting ideas, but it didn't work for me for a number of reasons. My Lady Jane and Castle Hangnail were both light and fun with a pinch of magic (and cute illustrations for the latter). So I can recommend three out of four. Not bad!

That was my month. How was yours? Read any good books?

  1. Oooooh a sunrise beach wedding? That sounds incredible! I mean, I'd probably want to substitute sunSET because ew mornings, but STILL, I am jealous on many levels :D Congrats to her! Also, glad you liked My Lady Jane, I want to read that one. I actually paused Removed once myself because I wasn't feeling it (and haven't gone back hah) which is sad because I had heard good things. Yay for an overall good month in general!!

    1. The wedding was a little earlier than I'd have liked (and COLD), but the visuals were stunning. You probably made a good move cutting out on Removed if your reactions were anything like mine. I really wanted to like it, but too many issues. :( Thank you, Shannon!

  3. I always wanted a beach wedding. Sounds fun, too bad you didn't get to stay longer.

My Lady Jane is a favourite of mine. I was really disappointed in the second book though :(

    1. I've been considering picking up My Plain Jane, but I don't have the best history with Jane Eyre. Hmm...
